Cannot access Web Console

Portable ZIP does not configure Windows Firewall. Right-click fix-firewall.cmd next to dearscenario-player.exe and run it as administrator. The script allows inbound TCP/UDP for that dearscenario-player.exe on Domain, Private, and Public profiles — you usually do not need to switch the network to Private.

If you previously dismissed the Windows Firewall prompt with Cancel, or allowed the app on Private only, Windows may have left a block rule or a Private-only allow. Run fix-firewall.cmd again; it removes rules for this exe path and recreates Public+Private allows.

• Confirm the device is on the same LAN as the player.
• On Windows portable ZIP (or after a firewall reset / a Cancel on the firewall prompt): run fix-firewall.cmd as administrator. Installed Setup already adds these rules. Use remove-firewall.cmd to clear rules for this extract path only.
• Allow DearScenario Player through the firewall (or the configured web port).
• Check for AP isolation on venue Wi-Fi.
• Make sure the URL includes the correct port.
• If control still fails after firewall allow: check the selected NIC, source allowlist / security mode, and that the player is bound to a private address.

Video black screen

• Confirm the file path is correct and the file exists.
• Check screen_index setting.
• Verify EDID is stable on projector outputs.
• In the debug panel, go to Settings, set HW decode mode to Disabled, then use Save and restart player.
• Use the debug panel to check whether the player is idle, paused, or rendering.

No audio

• Verify the OS default playback device and master mute.
• Check player volume / mute in the debug panel Controls tab.
• Open Tools → Audio: confirm an audio track exists, the active backend is open, and Output device is Auto or the correct interface. See Audio.
• On Windows, check the DearScenario Player session in the system mixer while media is playing.
• Confirm the amplifier or DSP chain is powered.
