Playback Basics
Loading media
Use the load command to open a media file or URL. The command ingress accepts local paths and network URIs using http://, https://, or rtmp://. URI admission does not guarantee that the target stream can be played or sought by the playback engine.
{ "cmd": "load", "params": { "source": "C:\\media\\main_loop.mp4" } }For exact load parameters and validation rules, use the
Command Reference.
Playback control
{ "cmd": "play" }
{ "cmd": "pause" }
{ "cmd": "cue" }
{ "cmd": "stop" }Seeking
Use the seek command with an absolute position_sec time in seconds.
{ "cmd": "seek", "params": { "position_sec": 30 } }Volume
{ "cmd": "volume_set", "params": { "volume": 0.8 } }
{ "cmd": "mute_set", "params": { "enabled": true } }Volume is independent of system volume.
Loop mode
{ "cmd": "loop_set", "params": { "enabled": true } }Loop is a command target for the current item. There is no playlist.default_loop
config. Use play_media.loop when loading a file.
Startup
A new process does not pick a file. See Playback after restart.
| Launch | Behavior |
|---|---|
| No file argument | Idle. Wait for play_media / load. |
--open-file or a positional media path | That one file plays from 0 seconds, loop=false. |
Old playlist.autoload / autorun_preset | Ignored and erased. |
